CHAPTER 17

ALANA

I feel like I'm crawling up a mountain as I straddle the middle of his chest trying not to settle the weight of my legs against his sides. I nip at his chin again and kiss my way lazily up to his full lips.

I almost hate this outfit right now because it still separates the real me from him as my face is still completely covered. His large hands settle heavily on my back as he lays flat on the platform. I stare down into those bright yellow eyes of his and even though he is trying to hide it I can see the fatigue and pain on his face. We are both being pushed to our limits in this monstrous hell. I can’t believe he isn’t dead to be honest. No human would have survived as long as he did hanging up there from his arms.

“You enjoyed the human kiss huh? I had no idea you were an amateur as you seemed to know what you were doing.”

“I'm a quick study, as I have watched my father and my brother also enjoy this intimacy with their humans.”

“Wait a minute. Are you saying you personally know two others like me, two females?”

“Yes, my father’s mate is Kira, and XuL’s mate is Brittany. Brittany is Keida’s mother. They may be of the same race as you, but you are not the same as they are.”

“At least some of the things you have been saying make more since now. I wasn’t sure how you knew some of the stuff you did. When you said the name Kira, family tree, and earth years, I thought it was this translator messing the words up. How long have those two girls been with your family? Oh my God…these are the two females that damn nasty shadow was talking about isn’t it?”

“Yes, Kira was found first, then Brittany. They both went through some very trying times where we almost lost them. But you little humans are tougher than you appear. They are well loved and taken care of now though and they seem very happy under the circumstances. You will meet them soon and then they can tell you their stories.”

I kiss him tenderly on the lips and then lay my cheek onto his, “The fairytale…the impossible dream,” I whisper to him. “I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Skyscraper, but I think this is as good as it’s going to get…for me anyway. You are a lot tougher than I am. Neither my body nor my mind was meant for this world and its hardships. Promise me that if at any point or time… if you have a chance to escape, you get the Hell out of here and never look back! I think I have known from the moment I woke up with Vereena that my days were numbered. It would be easier, I think, if I knew you made it out. You should have never been here to begin with.”

“Rest little human, we have had a trying day, as your kind would say.
